About Me

I’m C. N. Lovelace. I write short stories, poetry, and novels, mostly in speculative fiction genres such as horror, sci-fi, and fantasy, usually including romantic subplots or love interests, often including tragic or bittersweet endings. My first published work, an anthology of poetry and flash fiction, is coming out on Halloween this year.

I’m twenty-eight years old and live with my fiance Jason and our four pets (two cats, a crested gecko, and a box turtle) in rural Ohio near Athens. I am nonbinary and use any pronouns except he/him, though I generally use she, they, or it. I am also physically disabled and multiply neurodivergent, including having both autism and ADHD. I enjoy reading, horror media in all forms, alt-rock music, new-age spirituality, goth/alternative fashion and subculture, cannabis, and video games.

My favorite book is Pet Sematary by Stephen King, and I could wax philosophical for ages about the ramifications of tampering with the fragile balance of life and death as depicted in that novel. My favorite movie is As Above, So Below, as I’ve always enjoyed found footage and mockumentary horror movies and been fascinated by the Paris Catacombs. My favorite band is Motionless in White, and I’ve seen them live six times. My favorite song of theirs is Hollow Points.

I am a practicing Pagan worshiping the Hellenic and Norse pantheons. I am a devotee of Hekate, Apollo, and Aphrodite as well as Odin. I am a Divination witch and my favorite form of divination is cartomancy, specifically tarot and oracle cards, though if you have a pack of regular old playing cards I can do a reading from those too. I also enjoy fire scrying and crystal gazing to supplement my tarot, and am both clairvoyant and clairaudient.

I am a gamer girl and my current favorite game is Baldur’s Gate 3. Ask me about my video game husband Astarion sometime. I also regularly play The Sims 4, Hogwarts Legacy, Skyrim, Minecraft, Parkitect, Tropico 6, various Fallout games, and assorted other RPGs, survival crafting games, and simulation games. My favorite genre of video game is survival crafting though you wouldn’t know it based on the hundreds of hours I have in Baldur’s Gate 3 and Skyrim as well as my multiple thousands of hours in The Sims 4.

I have been writing since I was a young child, and wrote my first full-length novel at age fourteen. It was atrocious and though I still have the files somewhere, I will not be revising them for publication since the plot had no structure and I included over a dozen main characters since I wanted to write high fantasy. Around age seventeen I got into writing short fan fiction stories for various fandoms and continue to do so.
